Houmous

1 tin of chick peas – keep the juice and a spoonful of chickpeas aside)
1 table spoon tahini
1 tsp cumin
Juice of half a lemon
Olive oil
Purée garlic 1/4 tsp to taste
Sea salt to taste
To jazz it up add anything you fancy, I love these flavours:
2 tsp Harissa – to taste
Or
Olive tapenade 2 tsp to taste
Or
Blended beetroot
- Place all basic houmous ingredients into the blender except for the juice of the houmous and the olive oil.
- These can be drizzled in to loosen the paste.
- I like to add in the whole chickpeas after I’ve done the blending
Adding a topping of your choice can create so many different houmous tastes.
